HOWDY!

On behalf of the Texas A&M University Institute of Transportation Engineers Student Chapter, we would like to welcome you to Aggieland and the Aggie family! To help you adjust to living in the Bryan-College Station area, this section of our chapter webpage contains information on campus resources and leisure activities, as well other helpful academic information which may not have been provided to you during orientation.

Please know that all the ITE officers are more than happy to help you in any way we can. Do not hesitate to contact us for any reason. We encourage all of you to become involved with ITE. Our organization is a great way to network with other students, faculty, and professionals in the transportation field. Throughout the year, we will have guest speakers, attend conferences, take field trips, and participate in community service activities. We usually have several social events as well if you ever need an excuse to have a little fun.

A calendar of events can be found on the chapter website, along with membership forms for both our local student chapter, which costs $5 per year, as well as for International ITE, which is free for the first year. You can either return the forms at one of our meetings or bring them to any officer at any time.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have any questions about ITE, academics, or anything else. We hope you enjoy your time here at Texas A&M!

Computer Labs

Information on the various computer labs available to you can be found at the following internet addresses. Civil Engineering computer labs are only open to students in the Civil Engineering department, whereas the Open Access Labs are open to all Texas A&M students, regardless of major or classification. Both systems require you to have a username and password. The Open Access Labs use your TAMU NetID for access (the same password you use for campus e-mail and myrecord). The Civil Engineering department computer systems are administered separately; information on setting up an account can be found at the webpage below. The links below contain other important information about your accounts.

Entertainment, Social, and Recreational Activities

There are many places to eat, hang out, meet new people, and have a good time in Bryan and College Station. The local convention and visitors bureau maintains a user-friendly database of local establishments from bars to restaurants to museums. This is quite useful, as the accelerating growth in Bryan-College Station results in new offerings all the time. There are other resources for community activities listed as well, including the local chamber of commerce, campus programs, as well as a list of establishments and activities that our members enjoy.
